Bonjour!
My name is Julie Smetaniuk but the students call me Madame Julie. I teach grade 4 in the French Immersion program here at Steffie. I am originally from Manitoba and am lucky to have grown up bilingual with both French and English as important facets of my identity. I am very excited to share my passion for the French language with my students! I sincerely believe in the importance of building relationships and authentic connections with my students and look forward to getting to know each and every one of them.
When I am not teaching, I am at home enjoying some quality family time with my wonderful husband Roger, and my three beautiful children, Benoit, Geneviève, and Ilyanna.
